I'm not trying to please her or anyone else, but Angela, you really do have a very photogenic face. Very few people on this planet possess that trait. I have this habit of appreciating anything that I find really good, and appreciative words don't come out of my mouth too often. And while I was at the Children's Festival, I got acquainted with one Melissa who stands to the left of Angela. Hey, but I put down "made several new friends" on my IB CAS Reflection Sheet. And I indeed pity that man in the middle, who's left his entire head to the mercy of a bunch of mischievous girls. I hope he'd taken insurance.

Rachael being very meticulous in her work. I wonder what the other "hair-dying" girls were doing at this time. Weren't they supposed to be helping too? If you looked carefully, you'd spot our good old KeeVon in the background.

And Tony makes a dashing entrance into the tent with presents for the girls. And there's Peter, all alone, chuckling to himself, priding himself on a job well done.

Ah.. its the Key Volunteer once again! Am I obsessed with him or what? No, I'm just returning his favor of giving me a ride to and fro to the festival site. Thanks Kevin, once again.

Brittney, concentrating on her work. Hey, at least you don't make kids cry as Angela does! In the background is Kelsey, with her face painted like a panther. Sorry Kelsey, your face turned out darker than expected. Absence of lighting, you know.

This is a re-take, putting to use some of the advanced photographic features of my camera. I played around with the many filters and white-balance control options. I put in a blue filter to match with the blue sky and lake. Turned out very nicely. Good job, Rajesh! Pat on the back.

Brittney again. I wanted to capture the little girl's face too, but she wasn't going to turn. And by the way, someone's pant is torn at the knee.

All those Physics geeks out there, can you tell if the mirror is convex or concave? Five "winnie-the-pooh" points if you guess the right answer.

That's Tony and Peter at the Lunch Lounge (alliteration all the way). I guess the two girls at the background don't seem to like us. Sorry for the darkness, there wasn't adequate light.

Sudden picture shot at the lounge. Reminds me of those Mussolini photos at angles. I was sitting on the chair while I clicked this one.

Nope, I recognize no one here. The second from the left looks strikingly familiar though. The pale, yellowish-green grass goes perfectly with the tone of the photograph (I really didn't plan for that alliteration, really).

The castles again. I really wanted to punch and badly disfigure those castles! Mama, where's the "Tony" I made? Yeah, Tony and I made a real "Tony" with clay... It was fun.

I got bored and clicked the clay castle from several angles. The tool you see on the table is the "hair-maker." I loved that one.

One of my all-time favorites. Beautiful sky. Tall tree on the side which symbolizes power and strength despite solitude. I had to click this one 5 times, before I could get the exact effect I wanted. Photographed with a small shutter opening to minimize light entrance.

Same thing again, but a different scene at a different angle. What a calm, soothing ambience.

Hey, its the Big Two! Too bad, this picture (Mark particularly) had some red-eye, which I could remove, thanks to the GIMP.

The three of us got very excited during one of our extended breaks, and we began flying kites on our own. Yes, we were competing with the little kids. Mark claims himself to be an expert in kite-flying. "The Chinese invented the kite," he says. And Peter being the kite professional he is, got the paper kite cling to a tree more than once, and we had to release it for him. Duh! Some history on kites can be found here.

Nice background for this one. Smiling faces are good! I like smiling faces! Mark, you really should drop that string you're holding onto. It doesn't really look good.

Tall shadows of my legs. Yes, they're my legs. I can't prove it, but take them for word.

That's Peter showing off his exemplary kite-flying skills to Marky Zhang (that's his official name on the sheet). And by the way, guess who's Ms. Rice?

Nothing to do with Vanier Park, but this is a shot at the New Westminster Sky Train station on my return-trip. I really don't like these old trains. The new ones are much better and more aesthetically pleasing. I'm a great fan of Feng Shui and Vastu.

A beautiful sky-drop.

And the final one for today. This was a photo taken just outside the lounge. I expected this deep shadow to fall, but clicked the photo nevertheless. Its free after all. Sorry Jaime and Kevin, both of you have been blackened by the shadow. And Kelsey's trying to smile despite the blazing sun on her eyes. Kelsey, remember the camera joke I told you over here?

----------------

And that's it folks. Hope you enjoyed the photographs as much as I did presenting them to you. Some of my comments may have been disturbing (me exposing Brittney's hole in the knee, for example), but that's life, let's face it.

My biggest apologies go to Adrian, Amarjeet, Gorry and Suraaj (and anyone whom I've missed), for not having taken any photographs of them even though they volunteered along with us. I'll try harder for better coverage next time.
